The kids of Future Possibilities choose goals that are close to their hearts. Over the years, the children's Goals of Contribution have benefited dozens of individuals, institutions, organizations and causes,
- Women's and children's shelters
- Hospitals
- Animal shelters
- American Cancer Society
- Literacy programs
- Child and youth welfare
- Seniors' residences
- Food banks
- Environmental causes
- Homelessness
Our children have had a positive and direct impact on the lives of many people in their chosen communities. On average, each child in our program - in executing his or her goal - directly involves 5 people and typically attracts the additional involvement of about 30 others. Based on this ratio, in a typical year the Future Possibilities program will impact the lives of approximately 1,500 people!
For example:
Amber, a 10-year-old Future Possibilitarian, inspired several local businesses to donate prizes for the Charity Bingo she ran at a local Seniors' Center. She enrolled the assistance of 7 people to volunteer in the execution of her Future Possibilities' Goal of Contribution. More than 30 seniors attended! The $130 she raised was donated to a local women's shelter.
Our unique, Ready, Set, Goal! curriculum targets the kind of issues, concerns and interests that are common to elementary school children such as:
- Bullying
- Violence
- Gangs
- Sexism
- Peer pressure
- Adult pressure
- Body Image
- Popularity
- Racism
- Shyness
- Prejudice
